"Web Design for the Everyman" is web design made easy. No need to hammer out code. No technical background required. The sessions will cover: 

  • Hands-on tour of various programs you can use to build a site
  • How to design like a pro and its influence on sales
  • Getting a domain name
  • How to receive payments on your site
  • Power of analytics: what it can tell you about your customers and how to use it for your advertising and marketing
  • Integrating social media
  • Thinking outside the box with digital
  • Cross-screen design: Designing your site for desktop, mobile and tablets with ease
  • Fostering engagement: how to add photo galleries, videos, forms shopping carts and much more

We cover common site types: commerce product-driven shopping sites, professional portfolios, products and service sites and content sites for individuals and/or businesses. Social Media Workshop

This workshop features how to promote your art, writing, business or product on Social Media in fun, engaging ways. We cover new tools (many free) to add color to your Social Media efforts -- Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and more. We also cover trends for digital media, how to expand your social audience, improve the visual presentation of your social platforms, drive exposure back to your core product and brainstorm creative ideas for social content. Hands-on experience with new products to improve your social graphics. Please bring a laptop or mobile device.





Piper Nichole Henriques is the Digital Project Manager at NBC12 and works with Raycom Sports designing advertising for the ACC, the Atlantic Coast Conference. Her background includes being Special Projects Manager for Raycom Media, one of the largest broadcasting companies in the U.S., which owns and/or operates over 60 TV stations. She previously managed the NBC12 website on the News content side and spent time running the ABC affiliate site in Richmond.

Piper Nichole currently teaches at the University of Richmond School of Professional & Continuing Studies and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Studio School.

She also teaches at New York University School of Professional Studies. 

She has experience creating a wide variety of advertising: digital, web/mobile/app pages, magazine ads, print collateral and more, for hundreds of local, regional, national and international businesses. 

Her roots started as a journalist for the Richmond Times-Dispatch. She has three books published nationwide and her paintings are available at the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art. Her paintings are also available for sale at the Smithsonian American Art Museum store and Renwick Gallery store in Washington, DC.
