The situation: The NYU's Center for Urban Science and Progress needed a new website, it is a prestigious educational institution with renowned faculty and students from across the world. With their work with the Hudson Yards development and numerous initiatives, they needed a fresh look. With their prior site, they didn't have admin access to be able to make much needed changes to their site (there was old dated information on the homepage that couldn't be removed), the site needed a more contemporary appearance and it needed to be rebuilt from the ground up. They needed the user experience to be seamless across desktop, mobile and larger screens. Based on past user research and experiences, as well as analytics, team feedback and guidance, there was a series of new technology I provided to the school to address solutions to various specific needs of the school.
Their numerous faculty bios needed a way to display them in an effective searchable way, with pop-up boxes, that then link to their individual pages. Many products were tested to integrate the technology with the overall feel of the site and a product the staff could maintain over time. A very important aspect of the project was making sure everything was set-up in a way the staff could maintain it easily and efficiently. We launched the site within a very fast timeline, also focused on SEO for the site as well. The school had a very specific look they wanted and it being clean was an important aspect.
A variety of different products were tested and implemented for user testing. Once the university had a version that they felt represented faculty well and that visitors to the site would be able to navigate with ease, a beautiful style was implemented, and because it was showcasing very distinct faculty, this was a critical part for the school. A platform for showcasing events was also critical for them and after a variety of technology was tested, and iterations presented, I found a successful solution.
Talon Outdoor is a global out of home provider, working with major clients across the world with clients such as TikTok, GoDaddy, Puma and countless others. I led the user experience / UI and design for a client portal to help take complex information and make it easy for users to navigate the platform for media plans for out of home ad placements (such as billboards and other outdoor signage). User research from the past product, various other products and user testing was implemented to design the product, as well as understanding industry best practices for OOH and UX design. This was designed for a very specific user and the user journey was very tailored to their needs.
We had countless user-tests and focus groups of users to test the product, as well as shareholders and company leadership, developers, client services, project managers, the CEO, vice-presidents and more involved in the process.
With Talon, because of its high level of technology and educating buyers in a user-friendly way, we also developed a number of customer journeys to make it easy to understand their product and its offering.
With MoMA, the user experience of its retail store is very important in an omni-channel approach to ensure a cohesive experience for the consumer. The museum clientele tends to be in a higher bracket than the average consumer and so you have to rigorously adhere to a strict design aesthetic and user experience that is seamless across desktop, mobile, tablet and in-store. We have also been experimenting a lot with AI for personalized recommendations for consumers in the digital product space through its site, as well as its marketing and email marketing.
